SUMMARY:Rising from the Ashes: Individuals and Communities Healing after Wildfires
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon of innovative presentations on disaster recovery and healing after wildfires by experts Melissa Brymer\, PhD\, PsyD and Larissa Dooley\, PhD. The discussion will cover the basic neurobiology of how climate change impacts mental health and well-being\, and what resilience looks like in the face of disasters such as wildfires. In this symposium\, you will learn principles of psychological first aid\, evidence-based practices for disaster recovery\, and how to better care for your own well-being. You will leave with tools and resources for working with climate emotions and ideas on how to take meaningful action on climate issues.
